For all of us, traveling is full of first impressions. Seeing a place for the first time forges lasting memories and great inspirations. Return visits allow for fresh encounters of a place since experiencing different circumstances, weather and lighting can transform everything. Every trip is made up of unique moments and I strive to freeze these fleeting flashes in time. The changing environment provided by travel offers a rich source of excitement and for me, travel and art are forever intertwined.

My artwork is essentially a collection of memories that I would like to share. For me, I can paint what "I can not say" and a picture is the ultimate universal language. For example words can not express the first time you see the fog drift over the mountains above Kyoto. How can you describe what it feels like the first time that you are caught in the rainstorm at night in London and see the bouncing colorful reflections in the streets. How can you explain the first time that you walked through a park in Amsterdam and saw all the bright colored flowers on a sunny day in spring. All of these may seem normal or even routine to a native but to a traveler they can become magical moments. I aim to capture these magical moments in my artwork as a way to cement them and in order to share them with others.

On display are 13 signed limited edition giclée prints, published on fine art Hahnemühle German etching paper. They were inspired from subjects in some of my favorite destinations including: Beijing, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kyoto, Paris, New York, New Orleans, Sonoma, Dublin, Amsterdam, Washington and the British Virgin Islands.

I'm pleased if people appreciate my work but leave it up to them to interpret as they choose. Nothing makes me happier than to see people relate to my work based on their own experiences and draw out their own feelings and attach their own meaning to my creations. I will share some of my thoughts but encourage you to let your imagination drift into the scenes for yourself and connect the scenes with your own lives and memories.
