The Red Door was inspired by a memorable walk around Capital Hill in Washington D.C.
on a perfect spring morning. I emphasized the saturated colors of red and green and
worked on an experimental paper called Yuppo that allowed me to lift the white space
from behind the ironwork. The original was exhibited at the Fairfax County Government
Center in Virginia.(mat
